The Medical College of Georgia/Augusta University is recruiting an MFM fellowship Director.  This an ideal career opportunity for an individual with strong academic skills who enjoys teaching MFM.  We wish to re-open a fellowship that was initially started in 1980.  The division consists of 2 full-time faculty, 2 clinical associate faculty and several PhD faculty.  Areas of active research include public health, genetics, leiomyomata and pre-eclampsia.  Metropolitan Augusta has a population of 1.2 million.  There are 4 maternity services with a total delivery population of 8500 per year.  The division has 3 outpatient offices and consults at 3 metro Augusta hospitals.  Augusta University Medical Center is a Level 4 Regional Perinatal Center.  The Children’s Hospital of Georgia has a 45-bed NICU and a full complement of pediatric medical specialties and surgical specialties. The hospital supports an OB/Gyn residency training program with 20 residents.  The Medical College of Georgia is the tenth largest medical school in the United States, with approximately 900 medical students enrolled.  Augusta University enrolls more than 12,000 students in a broad range of both undergraduate and graduate programs.
