Lifespan Physician Group in Providence, Rhode Island is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified MFM physician. Lifespan Corporation owns four hospitals in Rhode Island, including Rhode Island Hospital, the largest in the state. It has 719 licensed beds, incorporating a separate pediatric hospital, providing including fetal imaging and surgery and full range of pediatric subspecialties. Lifespan Physician Group employs several hundred health professionals including our obgyn practice of 17 obstetrician-gynecologists, six seven midwives, two gynecologic oncologists, one urogynecologist and one maternal fetal medicine physician. It is the largest and only fully integrated obgyn group in Rhode Island. Our current annual obstetrical volume is approximately 1300 births. Our current model of prenatal care includes a collaboration among an MFM, general internists with an interest in medical complications of pregnancy, medical subspecialists and a geneticist, all in support of the group’s obstetricians and midwives. MFM-specific sonography volume is approximately 10,000 annual RVUs. A range of clinical activities: imaging, consultation and primary MFM prenatal and obstetrical care is available, depending on the interests of the maternal fetal medicine physician. We have a close working relationship with the larger academic department at Women and Infants Hospital and the other several obstetrical practices in the region. A clinical academic appointment, with its associated teaching responsibilities is available. The position is salaried with productivity incentives. Total compensation is competitive with other MFM clinical positions in the region. The second MFM physician will be welcomed enthusiastically by the team and will find an easy fit, complementing its other services.
