Community OB/GYN residency in Asheville, NC seeks 1 additional  MFM specialist to join 2 established MFMs with one new fellowship graduate starting Fall 2020. We provide full spectrum MFM care including longitudinal and consultative care for high risk obstetric patients, imaging and prenatal diagnosis, teaching (OB and FP residents, ultrasound, nurse practitioner and medical students) and research in a busy clinical environment. MFM night call is from home with daily rounding responsibilities on weekends. Must be BC/BE in MFM (including Maintenance of Certification where appropriate) with a strong commitment to clinical service, teaching, and scholarship. CVS, fetal ECHO, DEA-X, and Spanish language skills are a plus. Academic appointment is open rank, commensurate with experience, through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine.
 The MAHEC Department of OB/GYN and our hospital affiliate, Mission Health, serve as the primary referral sites for women’s health care in the 16 westernmost counties of North Carolina. Mission also serves as the regional perinatal transport hub with its level III, 52 bed NICU. The pediatric subspecialties are well-represented locally, especially pediatric surgery and cardiology. A new Hospital for Advanced Care is scheduled to open in Fall 2019.  In addition to the maternal fetal medicine providers, primary residency faculty includes 12 generalists and 12 advanced practice providers. There are 16 OB residents. Our Asheville campus is home to 53 UNC School of Medicine longitudinal integrated clerkship 3rd and 4th year medical students as well as FP, general surgery, and psychiatry residencies. UNC Health Sciences at MAHEC also includes MPH students from Gillings School of Global Public Health and healthcare research through UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.  Asheville is a highly desired living community nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and is the cultural hub of western North Carolina.  It has a population of nearly 100,000 inhabitants and is the ideal community for families (young and old alike!), outdoor enthusiasts, music, and beer lovers.  The cost of living is at the national average and public schools are excellent.
