The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan is seeking a board certified MD subspecialist to join the Division for a full time clinical faculty position and Medical Director of Labor and Delivery.  The position will be at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor on the clinical track pending candidate qualifications.  Labor and delivery medical directorship responsibilities include: generating and maintaining evidence-based protocols for obstetric management, tracking quality and safety metrics, maintaining collaborative working relationships with all obstetric providers, and interfacing productively with nursing and hospital leadership. Candidates will be expected to devote their clinical effort to our full MFM clinical services including, outpatient clinics, the Fetal Diagnostic Center (ultrasound unit), surgical procedures, as well as coverage of Labor and Delivery Services.  Additional responsibilities include the teaching of medical students, resident, and fellow physicians.  Participation in research that aligns with the clinical and leadership responsibilities on inpatient obstetrics/obstetrical quality improvement and patient safety is encouraged, and the department and medical school provide a strong infrastructure for pursuing research activities.
