Postdoctoral Positions in Preeclampsia Laboratory University of Chicago Medicine   Chicago, IL Dr. Rana’s Preeclampsia Laboratory ( is seeking a highly motivated postdoc to join our laboratory’s efforts to understand preeclampsia. Our laboratory primarily investigates the use of angiogenic biomarkers for the prediction of preeclampsia related adverse maternal and fetal outcomes and seeking new treatments for preeclampsia. The postdoc will have the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary environment in close collaboration with physicians, statisticians, and molecular and systems biologists at the University of Chicago. Postdoc responsibilities: ·       Participates in ongoing clinical trials including consenting, collection of human samples and data entry ·       Should have skills to create RedCap database and IRB submission   ·       Contributes to, and sometimes leads, the writing of academic papers, reports, and final summaries ·       Assists with planning, development, and execution of research in the laboratory ·       Assists in organizing and managing the laboratory ·       Participates in writing reports and manuscripts ·       Works collaboratively with the team and collaborators ·       Conducts periodic training for current and new members of the laboratory ·       Collects, records, and analyzes data ·       Conducts literature reviews ·       Ensures compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates ·       May serve as a lead research specialist ·       Presenting research findings at staff meetings, seminars, and scientific conferences   Job Requirements: ·       MD, PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree in systems biology, molecular biology, human reproductive biology, pregnancy physiology ·       Record of scientific achievement through publications and presentations ·       Strong track record in design and execution of clinical studies and a passion for translational science ·       Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English ·       Ability to conduct research independently, interest in clinical trials ·       Superb problem solving skills ·       Exceptional interpersonal skills ·       Experience with flow cytometry, optical microscopy, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, molecular biology, and sequencing are optional but will be helpful ·       Familiarity with next-generation sequencing data and bioinformatics will be advantageous Please email Dr. Sarosh Rana at with a brief statement regarding research interests, CV, and a list of two references with their email addresses.
