Additional InformationThe Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Florida (USF) is recruiting Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians to fill two open academic positions. These two new clinician-researchers will join our rapidly growing research enterprise to complement the ongoing strengths in placental biology, mechanisms of preterm birth, microvasculature, and cancer biology. Established lines of clinical research include cardiometabolic disorders of pregnancy, fetal therapy, and sleep disorders. Our faculty work extensively with other departments, centers, and institutes across all three USF campuses and actively collaborate with faculty in the Colleges of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing and Florida Department of Health. We also have an extensive network of domestic and international collaborators over a range of women's reproductive health issues.
The new faculty will join seven established MFM's who provide comprehensive maternal-fetal care. The Division's clinical scope is broad, including coverage of labor and delivery, the antepartum service, obstetrical ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis procedures, and perinatal consultation. We have an active and growing fetal therapy program that includes laser therapy and in-utero surgical procedures, as well as robust clinical programs for managing pregnancies complicated by placenta accreta and other complex medical and surgical conditions.
Clinical activities are complemented by opportunities in medical education and participation in statewide perinatal quality collaborative initiatives. Most of the Division members are actively engaged in clinical/translational research or other innovative clinical programs, which match their interests. We have an ACGME accredited MFM Fellowship and robust OB/GYN residency program comprised of 24 residents. The MFM Division is actively involved in educating fellows, residents, and medical students. Our primary affiliate, Tampa General Hospital (TGH), boasts more than 6,200 deliveries annually and has an 82 bed Level IV NICU.
Position Qualifications: Successful candidates for these positions are expected to have an established track record of academic productivity. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience, qualifications, and sources of external funding. For appointments at the level of Associate or Full Professor, preference is given to individuals with an established research program and/or grant portfolio transferrable to USF. Participation in graduate and/or medical student education and mentoring is also expected. The Morsani College of Medicine offers institutional salary support commensurate with experience and external sources of funding, competitive start-up packages, dry and wet laboratory space, excellent core facilities, and a collegial atmosphere to create an environment that promotes success.
• Must possess an MD or MD/Ph.D. degree from an accredited institution and board-eligible/certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology- Maternal Fetal Medicine. Candidates will have successfully completed a Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship. • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

• Must be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Florida.
