Roanoke, VA - Carilion Clinic seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and experienced physician leader with a strong clinical, operational, and academic foundation to serve as the next Chair, Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN).

This physician leader will also serve as Chair of OB/GYN at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM). This is an exceptional opportunity at one of the most respected physician led and patient-centered healthcare organizations in the U.S. Over the past five years, the Department of OB/GYN has grown as a strong clinical and academically oriented Department and is poised for a leader to continue to advance the program’s momentum and expand a vision for the future of Women's Health.
Carilion Clinic is one of Virginia's leading not-for-profit health care organizations. The integrated "clinic model," offers a patient-centered comprehensive network of hospitals, primary and specialty physician practices, and other complementary services. The Carilion care teams provide quality care close to home for nearly one million Virginians. Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 703-bed, level one trauma center serves as the academic flagship for the clinic supported by five surrounding community hospitals. The Department of OB/GYN delivers high quality clinical services, top performing educational programs, and promotes patient centered research and scholarship. It consists of 46 providers, nearly 350 staff across two hospitals and multiple ambulatory locations. Carilion is recognized as a regional leader for comprehensive care providing contemporary women's health services while advancing education and scholarly activity through its medical student clerkship and OB/GYN residency.    With an enduring commitment to the health of the region, Carilion Clinic seeks to improve care through medical education and research in partnership with the Virginia Tech Carilion (VTC) School of Medicine and the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC. The Department focuses its research efforts in innovative clinical outcomes research, partnership with industry and collaborative multi-site research trial efforts.

Candidates must hold an M.D./D.O. and board certification in OB/GYN. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of success in clinical, operational and academic leadership.  They will be a visible and accomplished leader with a reputation as an outstanding clinician, communicator, and scholar.
