THE POSITION:  The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health (OBGYN & WH) is seeking a dynamic Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist with solid clinical and academic experience to serve as the Director of Obstetric Simulation as part of the faculty of Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Medical Staff of Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. The individual will be part of the Maternal Fetal Medicine Division within one of the largest OBGYN & WH departments in the country. The Division provides a wide range of high risk reproductive care services, manages a 24/7 labor & delivery service across two hospitals and provides fetal medicine ultrasound diagnostic services to a very diverse and medically challenging patient population. The Director of Obstetric Simulation will organize, implement, and teach CME, GME and UME multidisciplinary simulation programs both in situ and in Montefiore’s simulation center.   Working with education and patient safety leaders in the Department and the Medical Center, this individual will develop programs to train care providers and promote high reliability in an effort to improve patient safety and patient experience while reducing risk for the Medical Center. The Department is committed to scientific discovery and to education, with one of the largest residency programs (46 trainees) and fellowships in every discipline, five of which are ACGME accredited. The Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist division provides care to patients throughout the Bronx and southern Westchester counties. In collaboration with the Generalist division, the Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists oversee the 24/7/365 Labor & Delivery service across two hospitals averaging more than 5,000 deliveries per year. Montefiore’s Weiler Hospital is a New York State designated is a regional perinatal center for 7 other area hospitals and features a level 4 NICU.

The selected MFM physician will also be responsible for direct patient care in Maternal Fetal Medicine consultation, working closely with highly trained Generalist partners throughout the prenatal and post-partum periods and will take primary responsibility for patients with significant co-morbidities. The ideal candidate will have experience and expertise in fetal medicine/ultrasound preferably from an AIUM certified facility; have a strong aptitude for, and commitment to, high risk, complex labor and delivery clinical services; and be committed to health equity and addressing social determinants of health.

THE CANDIDATE
: The successful candidate must possess an MD, have completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and be Board Certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine. The candidate must also have obtained ABOG Board Certification in General OB/GYN and be able to obtain a New York Medical License.  Practice experience of at least 3 years is preferred.
