The Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine is seeking a board-eligible/board-certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join our active and highly successful MFM practice. Johns Hopkins Medicine is designated a Level IV Hospital by the Maryland Perinatal System Standards and the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services System.
The clinical scope of our MFM practice includes an active clinical service on labor and delivery, obstetrical ultrasound, fetal echocardiography, prenatal diagnosis procedures, perinatal consultation for the management of high-risk patients, multiple specialty MFM clinics including maternal cardiac disease, placental health, fetal anomalies, obesity, infectious diseases, addiction medicine, and community outreach. Our Maternal-Fetal Medicine team consists of MFM physicians, genetic counselors, experienced sonographers, and advanced practice providers. There is an opportunity for medical students, MFM fellows, ultrasound students, and genetic counseling student teaching. The MFM Division has an excellent faculty, MFM Fellows, and resident staff with resources for research supported by the department and the University.
Location:
The Center for Maternal and Fetal Medicine is located at the Little Patuxent Specialty Care Center at Howard County General Hospital (11065 Little Patuxent Pkwy, Suite 100), a designated Perinatal Referral Center by the Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical Services Systems. The hospital has a Level III NICU and is a Baby-Friendly facility.
Services:
The Center is equipped to deliver comprehensive and multi-disciplinary care to high-risk pregnancies and to provide:
- Coverage by board-certified maternal-fetal specialists providing preconception and antepartum care.
- Consultative and co-management services for all medical complications of pregnancy such as cervical incompetence, maternal diabetes, and hypertension
- Certified genetic counselors are well versed in aneuploidy and carrier screening options.
- First-trimester ultrasound for early genetic and anatomical screening
- Diagnostic testing includes chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis.
- 4D imaging, when necessary, to evaluate fetal anatomical development and fetal growth.
- Fetal assessment center for antenatal testing profiles
- Testing for maternal diabetes and hypertension
- Fetal echocardiogram program
- Diabetes in pregnancy program with a certified diabetic educator
- Perinatal hospice program
- No in-house call
