The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) are seeking an outstanding academic physician to join our 23 faculty members in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Ultrasound. Positions at the rank of Assistant and Associate Professor are open.

Ranked among the best OB/GYN departments in the nation, the department is nationally recognized for its excellence in clinical care, research, and education.  Candidates must possess excellent clinical skills and a commitment to education consistent with the academic mission of the University of Pittsburgh. UPMC Magee performs approximately 10,000 deliveries annually. It has a 77-bed, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and full neonatology team. The Maternal Fetal Medicine team is comprised of 23 Physicians, 5 Advanced Practice Providers, 6 Certified Diabetes Educators and 8 Perinatal Nurses. The Division supports the Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship program approved to accept three fellows each year. Faculty can take advantage of the University of Pittsburgh Clinical and Translational Science Institute programs and the commitment to faculty development by the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC. Magee-Womens Research Institute is the largest independent research institute in the world focused solely on women’s health research. Our research scientists are engaged in health research that spans reproductive biology and development and diverse aspects of women’s health. We have a busy Center for Advanced Fetal Diagnosis and interested candidates will have the opportunity to be involved in the research and clinical activities of that program as well. There are multitude of opportunities for collaborative clinical research for interested applicants. Other clinical and research activities will depend on the candidate’s background, skills and interests; we encourage opportunities for individual academic career development.

The successful candidate will have a balance of clinical and scholarly activities. The clinical scope of this position is broad, including coverage of the antepartum service and labor and delivery, obstetrical ultrasound, telemedicine services, prenatal diagnosis procedures, and perinatal consultation. Excellent communication skills and ability to function in a consultative role are required. Successful candidates must be board certified in MFM, or at a career stage appropriate to be considered for candidacy for board certification. Candidates must possess an MD or DO. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
