Position Summary
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC) is seeking a clinical faculty to join the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Division. Candidates with particular focus / interest in ultrasound, perinatal psychiatry, human genetics and genomics are encouraged to apply. Currently the MFM Division consists of four highly experience faculty. The Division has a long-standing ABOG-approved MFM Fellowship; presently there are three MFM Fellows. UIC is currently designated as one of the Administrative Perinatal Network Hospital in the State of Illinois. Duties & Responsibilities

  • On- and Off-site MFM clinical coverage as attending physician
  • On- and Off-site Obstetrical Sonography clinical coverage as attending physician
  • Perform ambulatory procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), fetal echocardiography, cerclage
  • In-house supervision of fellows during their Labor and Delivery rotation
  • Antepartum hospital service coverage as attending physician
  • Out-of-hospital call coverage for MFM consults, maternal transports
  • Conduct didactics for medical students, residents, MFM fellows
  • Mentor medical students, residents, MFM fellows, faculty, for clinical, teaching, and research
  • Participate in maternal morbidity and mortality rounds, including those at network hospitals
  • This position does not require in-house night call
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Candidates must have an MD degree or equivalent, be eligible for unrestricted medical license in the State of Illinois, be Board-certified in General Obstetrics and Gynecology and be Board-certified or Board-eligible in MFM.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Expertise in Obstetrical Sonography, perinatal psychiatry, human genetics and genomics are advantageous.
