Position Summary
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC) is seeking a clinical faculty to join the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Division. Candidates with particular focus / interest in ultrasound, perinatal psychiatry, human genetics and genomics are encouraged to apply. Currently the MFM Division consists of four highly experience faculty. The Division has a long-standing ABOG-approved MFM Fellowship; presently there are three MFM Fellows. UIC is currently designated as one of the Administrative Perinatal Network Hospital in the State of Illinois. The University offers a comprehensive benefits package with potential for a sign-on bonus commensurate with experience and rank.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • On- and Off-site MFM clinical coverage as attending physician
  • On- and Off-site Obstetrical Sonography clinical coverage as attending physician
  • Perform ambulatory procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), fetal echocardiography, cerclage
  • In-house supervision of fellows during their Labor and Delivery rotation
  • Antepartum hospital service coverage as attending physician
  • Out-of-hospital call coverage for MFM consults, maternal transports
  • Conduct didactics for medical students, residents, MFM fellows
  • Mentor medical students, residents, MFM fellows, faculty, for clinical, teaching, and research
  • Participate in maternal morbidity and mortality rounds, including those at network hospitals
  • This position does not require in-house night call
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications
    Candidates must have an MD degree or equivalent, be eligible for unrestricted medical license in the State of Illinois, be Board-certified in General Obstetrics and Gynecology and be Board-certified or Board-eligible in MFM.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Expertise in Obstetrical Sonography, perinatal psychiatry, human genetics and genomics are advantageous.
