Additional Information

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wayne State University in Detroit, together with the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, announce the search for a combined Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and the Fetal Care Center. This person would also serve as the Director of Obstetric Ultrasound Services for the Detroit Medical Center/Hutzel Women’s Hospital.

This is a high-profile position for a high-caliber individual who will report to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department Chair, the Chief Executive Officer, and the Chief Strategy Officer for the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. This candidate will have the academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor in the WSUSOM (Wayne State University School of Medicine) due to the significant leadership role and senior status in the department.

Hutzel Women’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Michigan are the preeminent regional perinatal and pediatric referral centers for Detroit and Southeast Michigan. Both institutions are located in the midtown area of the city on the Detroit Medical Center campus and have a historically significant role in serving an underserved and very diverse urban population.

The Fetal Care Center was created several years ago to develop into a nationally prominent center for collaborative care of fetal patients. It is a modern facility with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities and with a dedicated institutional capital commitment.

The right candidate will have the necessary skills to complete the development into a fetal interventional center and the vision to develop a forward-looking growth plan. Their academic home will be in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology where they will lead our group of Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists and serve on the leadership council advising the Department Chair.

Our department also is seeking motivated and high-quality Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists who wish to practice in an academic setting as faculty of the Wayne State University School of Medicine.

These are clinical faculty positions with academic rank and compensation based upon candidates’ experience. r content here
