Join us on September 21, 2022 in Chicago, IL as the nation’s leading experts in genetics gather for this one-day, interactive event. Now in its fifth year, this course will help attendees increase their confidence in deciding which genetic tests to offer and improve communication during complex genetic counseling. Led by Dr. Mary Norton, the course is intended for MFMs, fellows, genetic counselors, OBGYN generalists, and midwives. 

Pre-registration is now closed.  Onsite registration is available at the Royal Sonesta Chicago beginning at 8am on Wednesday, September 21st.

This is an in-person only event limited to the first 100 people who register. 

With a large emphasis in audience participation, this full-day course offers interactive Q&A with faculty, case-based panel discussion/workshop, and opportunities to engage with faculty and attendees. 

NEW THIS YEAR! Attendees will have the opportunity to play two rounds of 'Genetics Jeopardy' covering the following topics:

  • Cell Free DNA
  • What Is That? Early Ultrasound Findings
  • Syndromes and Stillbirths
  • Cardiac Syndromes
  • Radial Ray Anomalies
  • Front and Center: The Ventral Wall

At this course, attendees will learn how to:

  • Counsel regarding expanded cell free DNA panels, including single gene disorders and microdeletions.
  • Understand the interpretation, and risks and benefits of exome sequencing for fetal anomalies
  • Discuss the differences between fetal anatomic evaluation in the first versus second trimester
  • Describe some of the more common genetic syndromes, including those associated with fetal growth disorders, enlarged nuchal translucency, and nonimmune hydrops

GLC is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Global Learning Collaborative designates this enduring material for a maximum of 7 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Cost: Registration fees include meals during the meeting, access to course materials online, and CME. Pre-registration will close one week prior to the event. An administration fee of $100 will be applied to those who register onsite.

                 Member: Practice Professional, Affiliate, Associate - Fellow, Medical Student, Resident, NPWH Allied Affiliate: $460

                 Non-Member: $920

Digital Offerings Available: Both the Prenatal Genetics and Maternal Medicine Courses will be recorded and available online in October 2022. When registering, check the digital registration box to signify that you will not be attending in person, but you will receive access to the recordings, course materials, and CME associated with the course after the recordings are available and posted to the SMFM online education website. These links will be forwarded to all registrants, virtual or in-person. Livestreams or simulcast will not be available during this course.

Cancellation policy
Cancellations must be in writing and received at events@smfm.org a minimum of one week prior to the course.  No refunds will be given after that time.  A $75 administrative fee will be charged for cancellations. Substitutions or transfers to virtual registration will be accepted anytime. Partial refunds will not be provided.
