SMFM welcomes the diversity of thought, skills, knowledge, and opinions brought by an increasing international membership pool. The International Member options have been refined  to meet the evolving needs of SMFM’s growing international community. In the spirit of fairness and opportunity for all healthcare practitioners around the world, SMFM has launched a tiered dues assessment based on the United Nations Human Development Index and gross national income for each country.

All applicants for membership shall complete a Membership Application. The organization shall allow for the following classes of membership: 

Regular (MFM) Membership
Board certified in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (or International equivalent) or Board certified in Ob/Gyn with certification in areas related to Maternal-Fetal Medicine such as Genetics, Infectious Disease, or Critical Care Medicine. Must provide your certification date.
ANNUAL DUES: $595

Associate Membership
Associate membership is available to any MD/DO without further training in Maternal Fetal Medicine as well as investigators who have achieved a PhD/MS or other degree in fields such as physiology or pharmacology. Adjunct membership is also available to physicians who are enrolled in U.S. certified specialty training programs in areas related to maternal-fetal medicine including Infectious Disease, Reproductive Infectious Disease, Critical Care, Anesthesia, Neonatology and Genetics, or any other clinician or scientist who supports the work of the Society. Associate members get access to all member benefits.
ANNUAL DUES: $535

Adjunct Membership
Adjunct membership is available to any MD/DO without further training in Maternal Fetal Medicine as well as investigators who have achieved a PhD/MS or other degree in fields such as physiology or pharmacology. Adjunct membership is also available to physicians who are enrolled in U.S. certified specialty training programs in areas related to maternal-fetal medicine including Infectious Disease, Reproductive Infectious Disease, Critical Care, Anesthesia, Neonatology and Genetics, or any other clinician or scientist who supports the work of the Society. Adjunct members have limited access to member benefits. Learn more.

Associate-Fellow Membership
Fellow membership shall be available to those physicians who are currently enrolled in a fellowship training program approved by the Division of MFM in ABOG and AOBOG. (or International equivalent)
ANNUAL DUES: $95

Affiliate Membership
Available to Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Physician Assistants, Genetic Counselors, Certified Nurse Midwives, Diabetic Educators, Ultrasound Technologists, Sonographers, and other healthcare professionals interested in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
ANNUAL DUES: $130

Practice Professional Membership
Available to Maternal-Fetal Medicine office managers, hospital and office coders, MFM office staff, practice consultants and members of industry.
ANNUAL DUES: $165

NPWH - Affiliate Membership
Available to Members of The National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health's (NPWH).
ANNUAL DUES: $95

FTNN - Affiliate Membership
Available to Members of the Fetal Therapy Nurse Network (FTNN).
ANNUAL DUES: $95

Resident Membership
Available to any Resident in a Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology that is approved ABOG or AOBOG. (Medical School details required).
ANNUAL DUES:$0

Medical Student - PhD Candidate Membership
Available to students currently enrolled in a program leading to an M.D / D.O. / M.B. or equivalent, or who are currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program. (Program details required)
ANNUAL DUES: $0
