President’s Initiative on 17 OHP: Moving our Patients from Problem to Solution
Feb. 3, 2016 1 - 3pm
Rates of successful uptake of 17‐hydroxyprogesterone among women with prior spontaneous preterm birth are variable and generally sub-optimal. Racial, ethnic and socioeconomic disparities in preterm birth exist, possibly driven, in part, by differential access to, and use of preventive therapies. Workshop participants will review potential root causes of underutilization of 17 OHP by exploring the experience of a vulnerable woman, from one preterm birth through a Subsequent pregnancy. By understanding barriers and pitfalls which impede successful implementation of 17 OHP, engaged stakeholders will develop strategies to improve overall utilization of 17 OHP and move toward meaningful and equitable reductions in preterm birth risk.
