Cardiovascular disease contributes to at least 61% of maternal deaths in the USA, a significant number that is preventable with timely recognition and treatment. As a follow-up to from the 38th Annual Pregnancy Meeting, this course will provide pearls and pitfalls for obstetric care providers in a highly interactive forum with, concise, 12-minute presentations followed by Q and A sessions.  A wide spectrum of cardiac disease in pregnancy will be reviewed including: preferred diagnostic testing in pregnancy, ischemic heart disease, arrhythmias, congenital heart disease, and cardiomyopathy

This course is approved for 7 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
 
1.         Understand the causes of maternal mortality.
2.         How to manage a pregnant woman with acute coronary syndrome.
3.         Identify the typical presentation of arrhythmias in pregnancy.
4.         Identify the high-risk aortopathies and risks in pregnancy.
5.         The components of CARPREG II and its utility in risk assessment.
