At this joint SMFM/ISUOG Postgraduate Course attendees will develop the skills to handle any patient with twin pregnancies. They will cover the latest research and methods on screening and prevention for preterm births; assessing growth abnormalities and diagnosing ultrasound readings for fetal anomalies, monochorionic monoamniotic pregnancies, TTTS and TRAP.  

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of Global Learning Collaborative (GLC) and SMFM. GLC is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

  1. Review the ISUOG guidelines for the management of twin gestations
  2. Discuss screening and prevention approaches for preterm birth in twins
  3. Describe how to assess and manage growth abnormalities in twins
  4. Discuss aneuploidy screening and prenatal diagnostic testing in twins
  5. Review ultrasound diagnosis and management of complicated twin pregnancies including fetal anomalies, monochorionic monoamniotic pregnancies, twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), single fetal demise and twin reversed arterial perfusion sequence (TRAP)
  6. Discuss the optimal timing of delivery and delivery mode for twin gestations
