Ultrasound can play a vital role in the management of intrapartum complications. Instructors will show how to use ultrasound to diagnose and manage these conditions. Attendees can learn and practice procedures on simulators in the room and refine their skills.  

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of Global Learning Collaborative (GLC) and SMFM. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  1. Refine the management of labor and intrapartum complications based on ultrasound findings
  2. Work with an ultrasound friendly mannequin to train clinical and sonographic skills in case of instrumental vaginal delivery
  3. Demonstrate the usefulness of ultrasound in the diagnosis and management of postpartum hemorrhage
  4. Obtain the sonographic images which allow to define fetal head position and station
  5. Understand why and when labor ultrasound is clinically indicated.
