This interactive roundtable on maternal
mental health will introduce participants to the care pathway that
maternal-fetal medicine, Ob/Gyns and other women’s health care providers need
to follow to improve how they care for women with perinatal mood and anxiety
disorders. The content will focus on how to detect, assess, and treat perinatal
mood and anxiety disorders. The roundtable will: 1) elicit barriers and
facilitators addressing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders in obstetric
settings 2) provide actionable information, algorithms, and clinical pearls to
help practices successfully address perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and
3) summarize important critical considerations, such as screening for bipolar
disorder prior to initiating treatment with antidepressants.
Clinical scenarios presenting various levels of clinical challenges will be presented and participants will have opportunities to discuss evidence-based approaches with their peers and the presenters.
