Course Description: 
Recent national events have shined a light on systemic racism that is pervasive within our society and in medicine. This course will empower MFM providers to recognize the roots of healthcare inequities within systemic racism and provide tangible skills to lead meaningful efforts for change at the policy, system and individual provider levels.

Learning Objectives:
  • Recognize the impact of racism at the individual, institutional and system levels leading to inequities in maternal outcomes.
  • Develop practical skills to leverage advocacy, data analytics and quality improvement to advance meaningful change 
  • Gain tools ranging from implicit, bystander interventions and cross-cultural communication to promote respectful care
