Course Description:
This course will cover basic and advanced genetic screening and diagnostic testing approaches. Cell-free DNA screening for fetal aneuploidy and carrier screening for single gene disorders will be reviewed as well as prenatal diagnostic tests including karyotyping, chromosomal microarray, FISH, gene panels and genomic sequencing. Cases will be presented to illustrate appropriate genetic test selection and the importance of prenatal phenotyping in the interpretation of sequencing results.
