As Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians, we understand that sharing stories and information about your condition can be both helpful and therapeutic. We offer this list of support organizations as a resource for you and your family.

Amniotic Fluid Embolism Foundation
Amniotic Fluid Embolism is a rare and devastating obstetric emergency that occurs only during pregnancy, most often during or shortly after delivery. Although one of the leading causes of maternal mortality in the world, it is still poorly understood and unpreventable. The AFE Foundation was created in 2008 with the primary goal of helping to advance clinical research that is vital to understanding the root cause of AFE. Additionally, AFE will offer supportive services to those affected and provide much needed clinical and patient based information.

Fetal Hope Foundation
The Fetal Hope Foundation's mission is to provide support, provide information, fund research, increase awareness and be an outlet for leading medical information pertaining to fetal distresses and syndromes. We are all about arming families with information to save their babys lives.

Hope for Two . . Pregnant with Cancer
Hope for Two...The Pregnant with Cancer Network offers free support for women diagnosed with cancer while pregnant. We connect women who are currently pregnant with cancer with other women who have experienced a similar cancer diagnosis.

Pregnant with Cancer Support Group
The Pregnant with Cancer Support Group is a national organization created to offer hope and support to women who are diagnosed with cancer while pregnant.

Kay's Kids Group
Kays' Kids is a parent group consisting of and dedicated to families of children born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernias (CDH). Members' babies were either born at Shands Children's Hospital at the University of Florida or transported there shortly after birth. All of these babies were fortunate enough to have been treated by pediatric surgeon Dr. David Kays.

Preeclampsia Foundation
The Preeclampsia Foundation is a US-based patient advocacy organization that provides education and support for those impacted by preeclampsia and other hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, as well as raising public awareness and funding research. Educational materials vetted by a medical board of experts are available in print, DVD and online. A dynamic forum (message board) provides 24/7 information and support to visitors across the globe.

The Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome Foundation is dedicated to providing immediate and lifesaving educational, emotional and financial support to families, medical professionals, and other caregivers before, during, and after a diagnosis of twin to twin transfusion syndrome.
