Christina A. Penfield, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Bellevue Hospital. She has a Masters in Public Health with a focus on Maternal Child Health. She completed residency training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at University of California, Irvine Medical Center.
Dr. Penfield serves as the Co-Director of the NYU Cardio-Obstetrics Program and has a clinical and research focus on prevention and clinical management of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) and their long term cardiovascular sequalae. She has a diverse research skillset and has led studies in perinatal epidemiology of cesarean deliveries using large national datasets, developed and implemented of clinical algorithms, and led multiple randomized controlled and prospective trials. She has a NIH K08 Career Development Award to focusing on risk prediction and medical decision-making for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
