Christina Herrera

Dr. Herrera is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist with sub-specialty certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and is the current Placenta Accreta Team Lead at Parkland Health. She is appointed as an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where she is a Clinical Scholar. She is an early career clinical and translational investigator with a K23 from the Eunice Kennedy Shrive National Institute of Child Health and Human Development seeking to understand the placenta in healthy and diseased states. She is currently using novel magnetic resonance imaging and genomic techniques for longitudinal assessment of placenta structure and function in healthy women and women with chronic hypertension and placenta accreta spectrum (PAS). She is a leader in the imaging and management of PAS and has multiple publications regarding clinical aspects of PAS.
