Professional Bio

Dr. Carter is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist. She completed her undergraduate studies at Howard University and earned her medical degree from LSU New Orleans. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tulane Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). Dr. Carter also holds a Master of Science from UTHSCSA and a Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dr. Carter is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Addiction Medicine. She is dedicated to providing safe, evidence-based care for high-risk pregnancies. Her clinical interests include diabetes, preeclampsia, fetal growth restriction, and prenatal diagnosis.

Dr. Carter is a published author in Obstetrics and has shown leadership as the founder of two successful practices. She has also served as a solo practitioner and is committed to advancing health care through her committee work at universities, hospitals, and medical societies. Her dedication to the community is reflected in her service on multiple boards, support of organizations, and mentorship of others. Outside her professional roles, Dr. Carter is a devoted mother and wife. She enjoys yoga, spending time with her family, and is a certified yoga instructor.
