SMFM Advocacy for Reproductive and Perinatal Health

The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) advocates at both the federal and state levels to ensure equitable access to perinatal and reproductive healthcare.
From Washington, DC, to state legislatures across the country, SMFM works to shape policies that protect patients, support clinicians, and advance maternal and fetal health. Explore our advocacy hub, policy updates, and opportunities to get involved in this important work.

SMFM Advocacy Hub

The SMFM Advocacy Hub provides members with the latest advocacy activities and updates, policies and position statements, and tools to contact policymakers. Members can also track state policies and request advocacy support for public health initiatives in their communities.

State Liaison Network

The State Liaison Network is a member-led initiative focused on state-level advocacy and implementation of state-based maternal and reproductive health programs. Joining this network allows MFMs to collaborate across states, share best practices, and strengthen advocacy strategies to improve patient access to essential healthcare.
