Professional Bio

Abdulfetah Abdulkadir Abdosh was born in Addis Ababa,Ethiopia.He is an associate professor of obstetrics and Gynecology/Maternal Fetal Medicine ,a well-recognized faculty working at St Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College for the last 20 years with experience in clinical care, teaching, research and leadership. He served as a president of The Ethiopian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ESOG). He also served as Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at SPHMMC ,as executive board member of ESOG and chair of CME committee of ESOG . As head of the department, he pioneered the establishment of the first residency and first fellowship programs in the college and the country . He currently serves as a fellowship director in the department. His education and training had been at the University of Belgrade, Serbia. He is co-author of over sixteen articles and He has also been involved as PIs in several research endeavors including a worldwide multi-center RCT, The WOMAN Trial which has resulted in a significant impact in shaping the protocol for the management of Postpartum hemorrhage and GLOSS study . Dr Abdulfetah received Certificates of Merit Award (ESOG), Distinguished Service Award (ESOG) and the Best Senior of 2016 Award (by First Batch of ob-gyn residents, SPHMMC). He was also awarded certificate of appreciation in recognition of his vital contribution to the success of Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program at St Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical college. Dr Abdulfetah is associate fellow of International Academy Perinatal Medicine, director of the Ian Donald's Inter-university of Medical Ultrasound (Ethiopian Branch), member of Global Health Committee of SMFM, World Association of Perinatal Medicine and Society of the Fetus as a Patient. He served as WHO-HRP Principal Investigator in strengthening research capacity through regional partners .His research interests are women's ,fetal and neonatal health and professional development .
