What to Expect at the 2026 Pregnancy Meeting: Courses and Forums

Blog,

The SMFM Pregnancy Meeting™ returns in 2026 to Las Vegas with the energy, collaboration, and innovation that

define our field. Each year, this meeting brings together clinicians, researchers, educators, and trainees united by a shared commitment to improving outcomes for pregnant people and their babies. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the latest advances in perinatal care, exchange ideas with colleagues, and contribute to discussions shaping the future of maternal-fetal medicine.

Postgraduate Courses
To support future physicians and expand learning for current practitioners, attendees

Amber Samuel, MBA, MD
Postgraduate Course Chair

can participate in one of the 18 postgraduate courses, held Sunday through Tuesday, February 8–10, prior to the start of the scientific sessions. Ranging from 3.5 to 7 hours, these offerings combine didactic lectures, case-based learning, interactive panel discussions, and hands-on demonstrations, with CME credit and select courses offering AIUM Ultrasound credit. Topics cover both foundational and emerging areas in maternal-fetal medicine—from maternal health equity and cardio-obstetrics to innovations in ultrasound, diabetes care, and maternal medical complications. Recordings for most courses will be available February 16 – May 2, allowing participants to revisit courses and claim credit at their convenience.

We’re especially excited about the breadth and depth of this year’s offerings, including a hands-on critical care simulation course, the ever-popular Needle Works course, multiple complex obstetrics courses, and a suite of imaging courses covering everything from first-trimester anatomic surveys to the prenatal evaluation of congenital heart disease.

Scientific Forums
On Tuesday, February 10 beginning at 3:00 PM we will kick off the Scientific Forums. Redesigned this year to

Scientific Forum Chair

foster engagement, the forums provide an open platform for discussion of research results and advances in maternal-fetal medicine. Attendees can move between the 10 forums to explore topics ranging from cardio-obstetrics, critical care, and diabetes to genetics, maternal-fetal surgery, perinatal mental health, placenta accreta spectrum, and ultrasound innovations. Scientific forums are included within the scientific session registration fee and will spark new research ideas, offer practical insights, and allow participants to engage with experts and peers.

With the revamp of the scientific forum structure, we look forward to more innovative, interactive components. In the Cardio-Obstetrics forum, participants will have the opportunity to explore Fontan circulation with virtual reality headsets. In the Maternal-Fetal Surgery forum, faculty will debate hot topics including TAPS diagnosis, staging, and management.

We look forward to welcoming you to Las Vegas for a meeting filled with learning, collaboration, and inspiration—where every session, discussion, and connection moves our field forward.
